Prince Harry's aunt opens up over Matthew Perry's tragic death after Friends cameo

Prince Harry’s aunt, Sarah Ferguson, who cameoed in an episode of Friends, has paid tribute to Matthew Perry, who tragically passed away on Saturday, October 28.

The iconic TV show on which he rose to fame, playing the beloved character Chandler, was on air from 1994-2004. In series 4, the cast traveled to London for Ross’ wedding to Emily, with a cameo from a royal family member.

Taking to her 654k Instagram followers, Sarah Ferguson, who was previously married to King Chales’ brother, Prince Andrew, shared a photograph of her with the cast, minus Lisa Kudrow, who stayed behind in the States due to her pregnancy.

“I remember being thrilled to have met a natural talent, comedian, and brilliant actor. It is a tragedy to lose you so early in life, rest in peace dear Matthew … you have given so much joy and laughter to so many.”

Sarah appeared in the season 4 episode, titled, “The One Where Ross Gets Married.”

In her appearance on the hit show, Joey runs into the Duchess of York, whipping out a camcorder to record the moment, in the days long before the iPhone.

The recording is for his best friend and roommate Chandler Bing, which Joey films while wearing a questionable Union Jack hat. However, it seemed like Fergie had a different opinion on it, as she says:

“Hi Chandler, Joey says you don’t really like his hat, but I think it’s kind of dashing.”

Fergie was ‘nervous’ about the appearance

Of course, anyone would be nervous making a cameo on arguably, one of the biggest TV shows of all time, and it seems like Prince Harry‘s aunt, Sarah Ferguson was no different.

In fact, it was later revealed that ‘coaxed into the appearance by her daughters’ Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie, who were huge fans of the show.

Although Matthew Perry was not in the scene, he stood by her side for support while she filmed the scene. Matt LeBlanc was also there for her as he helped her go through her lines, according to Comedy Central.

The London episodes will go down in history. It’s where the adorable love story of Monica Geller and Chandler Bing first started, and where we learned how much Ross really did love Rachel, accidentally saying her name instead of Emily’s at the altar.

However, they were oh so close to not actually filming in the big smoke, due to the cost of transporting the cast, crew, and equipment.
