We really want you to know we don’t want it.” It was that kind of pressure. All my money in, all of it. And the only place I want to sell it is to Netflix, and they reconfirmed, “We don’t want it.” And so, we still shot it, and they ended up buying it.”

As to what inspires the Pinoy comedian daily, it’s definitely not money. “Man, the one thing I try and let people know is if you’re not passionate about it and if you’re not in love with it, then get out of it,” he told Salon. “Because if you’re in it for the money and the fame, then it’s never going to be real. You might as well just quit and find something else to do. I love stand-up. I’m good at a coffee house tomorrow night. I’m good. It doesn’t need to be the United Center in April. I can be at the Laugh Factory on Sunset on a Wednesday night with 15 people. I’m extremely happy because this is my passion. This is what I love to do.”
